Bio:

Born the son of a very wealthy merchant, Pythagos lived in a closeted world of attendants and handservants. When he began to speak and read at a particular precocious age, his father spared no expense in his education. At a point, he was the star of the royal court, able to summon obscure trivia and facts upon command. Growing quickly frustrated with his role as a mascot, he disappeared for a week. At the end of the week, Estnod Dragonswing returned from a Wizard’s Convocation to find a curious and estudious five year old Pythagos sequestered in the Wizard’s library. Pythagos pleaded with the Wizard to not return him to his life in the court and demonstrated his talent with some rudimentary cantrips he had learned in his Master’s absence. Amazed and fearful, Estnod agreed to take on the young apprentice to protect himself and others from his own power.

In the intervening years before seeking adventure on the road, Pythagos traveled Verland extensively at his Master’s side. However, the various areas of the Kingdom failed to make impressions for the most part, as the young apprentice was usually sequestered in a wagon or inn room studying.

His father, Etmonde McTherian IV, was executed in the presence of the Royal Court for attempting to defraud the King. Pythagos was spared any guilt by association as he had long been in his apprenticeship, but other remaining members of the family escaped to parts unknown, were sold into slavery, or killed as accomplices to the crime. The holdings of the family were given to the Resgard clan for their services to the throne in defeating his majesty’s enemies.

On Pythagos’ nineteenth birthday, Estnod Dragonswing released him from his Apprenticeship, presenting him with a spellbook, robe, and quarterstaff. With nothing to keep him, Pythagos left straight away to find his own place in the world. In the Capitol of Bergen, he had the fortune of making the acquaintance of several other adventurers, and was hired onto protect the town of Talowdale.
